Wicked Wednesday SEXpeditions - The Wingman

Hello everyone, this is I’mwiththevampires08 coming to you this Wednesday with my story pick,

Now, as you know, we don’t get to choose our own story to review. It’s all up in the air, nobody knows what they’re going to get and if you don’t enjoy the read, tough shit.

BUT…I’ve followed this story since day one when Ninapolitan uploaded the first chapter and I was so happy I got it. She’s such a talented writer as many of you know from her previous story The Bella Swan Diaries. As with her previous story, this one is chock full of laughs, crude humor, angst and drama as we follow Edward and Bella along their tremulous ‘friendship’ relationship.

Here’s how she described it:

AH/OOC. A loosely based Twilight revamp of Cyrano de Bergerac. One trusty Wingman, one best friend and the girl of their dreams, add humor. The Wingman helps his best friend get the girl. Too bad he wants her for himself. Not a tragedy like Cyrano.

Picture if you will, Emmett, the Mayor of Forks and Rose his beautiful, cold, bitchy wife. Alice, head of public relations with Jasper as her husband. Enter Edward, long time resident of Forks and Alice’s geeky, shy brother and his best friend forever…Jacob Black. We also have Ms. Cope and her Cougar Alliance (don’t ask), and Charlie, Chief of Police - who is also the sworn enemy of Edward and Jacob…but what did they do to the Chief to warrant such behavior? That is still a mystery in itself.

Bella decides to come back and spend some time with her father in Forks, where she has her own place and opens up her flower store named Petals. The problem? Two men have fallen hard for her…none other than besties Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. Their faithfulness to each other as friends becomes tested as they both vie for Bella’s attention; Jacob using Edward’s knack for poetry and Edward using it as well, albeit behind Jacob’s back.

As you can imagine, many tense moments abound as they fight over Bella’s affection. Oh and did I mention they’re roommates as well? As always, Ninapolitan pulls through to ease some of the tension in this story to lace it with humor. Here’s a snippet from her latest chapter:

Losing myself in the archway design, I repeated the prose over and over, still trying to pinpoint where I had heard it before. Nothing came to me, at least, until Emmett came back over to join me.
“Don’t let Eddie hear you singing that song,” he laughed from behind me. When I turned, he was humming the song just as Jake had in my dream the night before, but decided to do some ridiculous hip gyrations to go along with the tune. If the voters saw that, I wasn’t sure Emmett would be getting another term as the Mayor of Forks, unless of course the Cougars rigged the election.
Getting louder and louder with his humming (moaning), Emmett had drawn a bit of a crowd, including Edward, Jasper, and a very mortified looking Jacob. The Mayor’s fingers were now on his nipples, running circles around them, Austin Powers style, as he finally started belting out the words, and I found myself just as embarrassed as Jake.
“When I think about you I touch myself, oooh, oh, oh,” he crooned, rubbed, gyrated and jiggled. “I don’t want anybody else, oh no, oh no, oh no, yeah,” he finished and took a bow. Jasper and Edward clapped him on the back as the three were in complete hysterics over his performance. I, on the other hand, wanted to crawl into a hole in the ground.
I knew the words were familiar, but never in my life would I have thought that he would recite those lyrics to me. The many mysteries of Jacob Black were confusing me more and more. Knowing how I felt about the poetry, he recited what, his favorite song? Oh Christ, a song that represented how he felt about me? What he did? Oh, this was just getting more and more embarrassing. Sure, I was flattered, Lord knows I too was taking matters into my own hands thanks to his previous poetry, but this song, it didn’t fit with anything else. It occurred to me that it was Jacob’s way of being himself, but trying for me as well.

All in all, I love how the story is progressing and I cannot wait till Bella comes to the realization that it is Edward, not Jacob sending her the poetry that drives her over the edge. Will she be pleasantly surprised? Angry as shit? Confused as hell? Only time will tell so I urge you to run over to her profile and click on this story and start reading. This is a great read in my book.
