Why this fic deserves to be pimped:
Apart from the fact it feels just that little bit deliciously naughty for picturing the teenage Jacob with the MANY years older Jasper.. if you put the "real" ages out of mind and remember Jasper wasn't that much older than Jake when he was changed (AND think of Steven Strait as Jake instead of darling, but also jail baitish Tay Tay) then you pretty soon get over that factor.

The start of this EPIC little fic begins at the end of New Moon. Jake is all angry/hurt/heart achey as Bella has chosen Edward, and even more so because Sam has decided that the pack should work with the vamps to be rid of Vicky and her precious newborns. While he's on patrol he can't stop being attracted to this wierd Vanilla scent that seems to cover one little vamp, yet it's not hers. It freaks him out a little, but he puts it to the back of his mind until the pack meet up with the Cullens out at the baseball field and in one second, the world stops spinning and all previous laws of gravity and sensibility are OUT the window... because that sweet forbidden vanilla scent.. belongs to a pair of golden eyes...

"We don't want to lose you."

"But we're forgetting one thing," my voice was bitter, cynical. "All of this is riding on whether or not that cold one who I imprinted on will give me the chance for a relationship of any kind. For all we know, he could quite possibly want me dead. Remember what Bella said? They're alltogether, I've just stepped into the middle of an established relationship."

"Jake..."

"And from what I've heard, he's with the one who can see the future; the one who can't see us, conveniently enough. What could I give him that she couldn't? She can give him whatever he needs before he needs it, she can tell him what he needs to hear before he does; she's perfect, perfect for him, for anyone, and I can't do that.

"What can I give him, Emily? We're two completely different races, who just happen to be mortal enemies and are meant to fight each other to the death. I'm mortal, he's not. What can I give him that he can't get from anyone, anywhere, else? What am I to him but a nuisance? A mistake? Tell me Emily, what can I give someone who already has everything?!"

"I... I can't..."

Letting my head drop to my knees, I felt exhausted after my little tirade; I was emotionally drained and I didn't feel like I could feel anything more at that moment. All I wanted was to be alone, so that I could wallow in my own misery of what could have been. I'd rather fantasize about what I could have had. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes, and all I wanted was to be alone when I lost it.

TwilightScribe pulls you into this world where things are decidedly topsy turvy with detailed imagery, dark and twisty emotions and story telling so good, you may just decide this is the version of Eclipse for you! The ride is decidedly deep as we delve into Jake's psyche and how he copes with 1) Imprinting, 2) Imprinting on a guy when previously he thought he was straight and 3) Imprinting on a guy who also happens to be of the undead persuasion and his mortal enemy.. easy relationship? Me thinks not.

Not only do we get Jake's side of things, but Jasper's struggles as well. How it feels to be thinking you were with your mate for life, the other half to your soul, when all of a sudden your thrust in the opposite direction, and not even your empathic abilities can keep up with the turmoil going on around you.

"Tonight, everything is going to change."

Alice had startled me out of my thoughts, and I felt a twinge of guilt that I hadn't noticed her when she'd come in. My head snapped around to look at her; she'd opened the large windows which led out onto the balcony that wrapped around the back of the house. Her eyes were staring up at the sky, and she seemed distant; almost as if she was talking to herself, and not to me at all.

"What do you mean Alice? Did you see something?" Her head snapped around suddenly, and there was a strange fire in her eyes.

She seemed... hesitant, almost afraid to say whatever it was that was hovering on her mind. But then, slowly, she spoke, "It's not what I've seen... but what I haven't seen."

And with that, she left before I could question her any further. This was odd, Alice never hid anything from me, no matter how upsetting it might be, no matter what it was, she would tell me. My stomach twisted, and that feeling of unease intensified, only this time it was mine instead of others.

What was it that Alice hadn't seen?

I was a little hesitant at the start, but hey.. it's me and I'll give anything a try once *cough Hermione/Fred & George SMUT thanks Mischief-Maker1 cough* . This though, this has me wishing more people would step out of the safe zone and give us something completely different and DAMN addictable to read. I can't WAIT till we find out more.

So why not give the Jakesper side a try.. go on.. they won't bite... MUCH ;)
